Only a few days after we caught one one of their reporters plagiarising a NewsNow story we are saddened to report that The Times is at it again, on this occasion taking information from our own website without attribution.
Very sloppy. When we reported yesterday morning that Heeralall Sukdeo, the Shrimp Coketail Suspect had been denied bail in Brooklyn federal court we mistakenly named the Magistate as Lois Bloom. Silly us. She was the presiding magistrate when Sukdeo first appeared last week and we assumed she was on the bench yesterday. No problem we later changed it to the correct name, Robert Levy. However the Times in its eagerness to cover the story despite having no correspondent in place simply lifted our old information without checking, naming the magistrate as Lois Bloom while changing around a few words from our report.
“Guyanese Heeralall Sukdeo was denied bail when he appeared in Brooklyn Federal Court on Tuesday charged with allegedly smuggling 268 kilos of cocaine stuffed in shrimp last week into New York. Magistrate Lois Bloom refused bail to the Guyanese on the ground that Sukdeo posed a flight risk.”
Brooklyn: Guyanese Heeralall Sukdeo was denied bail when he appeared in Brooklyn Federal court this morning in relation to charges of smuggling 268 kilos of cocaine packed in a container of shrimp. The bail hearing was set for 11 am and Magistrate Robert Levy denied the bail for now saying it was a presumption case and that Sukdeo posed a flight risk.
